No, Part 46 training only covers sand, gravel, and aggregate material mine sites. If you plan on working on metal or non-metal operations, you will also need Part 48 (b) training to remain in compliance. This online course only covers Part 46 training.
That depends on how long you’ve been gone. MSHA has a grace period for returning miners, so if it has been less than two years since your last MSHA training course, you can take an 8-hour Annual Refresher course to return to work. If it has been longer than two years since your last MSHA training, you will need to retake a New Miner training course to be fully compliant.
