Kim has worked in nearly every area of mine safety, starting out in the mines and later becoming an MSHA inspector, a compliance consultant, and a fatality investigator. With more than 30 years in the industry, he brings a depth of perspective that can only come from lived experience. If you have a question about mining, Kim has an answer, and often a story to share as well. He has dedicated his career to sharing those experiences and helping miners and leadership teams understand not just the how, but the why behind mine safety.

Over the years, Kim has worked with more than 400 mining companies across the U.S. and Canada, including many of the industry’s largest and most complex operations. Since partnering with MSHA Safety Services in 2020, Kim has continued to expand his impact through training, using his firsthand inspection and compliance experience to support more mine sites and reach more crews than ever before.
